Description:
Under general supervision of the Supervisor of Process Automation, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, modification and repair activities in assigned maintenance operations areas which may include material handling, electrical and Building Automation in any of the distribution centers; and performs related work as required.

Building Automation Systems Technician is an experienced-level technician and is capable of performing a wide variety of work to ensure that the facilities and equipment are maintained in a Key Duties:

- Duties are illustrative and not inclusive and may vary with individual assignments.
- Perform program changes, monitoring of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and PMS (Process
Management Systems).
- Troubleshoot repairs of all Controls, Process Controllers, Control Cabinets, Power Supplies and all
other field devices.
- Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities including performing material handling
equipment troubleshooting and repair; office furniture moves and setups.
- Maintains building, equipment, shop and storage areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Completes work orders for work performed and includes parts and inventory used.
- Document all work order activities to comply with MP2 requirements, providing documented records
of the activities performed.
- Follow lockout-tag out procedures, confined space procedures, and other safety and environmental
procedures and policies as required.
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing work in all operational and Facilities
areas, depending upon the immediate needs of the department.

Education and Experience:
Possession of an Associates Degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above. BS degree desired.

Licenses:
Possession of a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.


Job Knowledge:

- To troubleshoot, repair and maintain all building equipment and material handling systems in the
distribution centers to ensure all customer needs are met.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair sensors, encoders, decoders and bar code readers. Ability to work
with little or no supervision and complete paperwork accurately.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair low and high voltage controls including fuses, relays, wiring,
contactors and power supplies from the source to the field device.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and schematics.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to use electrical diagnostic equipment (to include digital and analog meters, and amp meters
for AC/DC testing).
- Ability to use electrical diagnostic equipment (to include digital and analog meters, and amp meters

- Ability to work with little or no supervision and complete paperwork accurately.
- Ability to work as a team member by interacting and communicating with co-workers and managers
in a cooperative and constructive manner.
- Ability to multi-task.

Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 year(s) industrial maintenance experience with PLC's, conveyors, controls, and
Operating Systems.
- Electrical experience with high and low voltage, AC and DC.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Proven track record of strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Automatic Identification systems (Laser Scanning Devices).
- Knowledge of DOS, OS/2, C-Programming, Dbase, Auto-Cad, Windows, Windows NT, QNX and
Unix systems.
- Experience in programming and monitoring Programmable Logic Controllers such as
(Allen/Bradley, Siemens etc.).
